It is common to hear a parrot mimicking the sound of wanting for some food. This is very true of those parrots who like imitating human beings or those parrots that have been properly trained to act like humans. There is often a false impression that parrots must only feed on seeds or some manufactured food suitable for their health. You can personally prepare some food for your parrot and one of their most favourite food is crackers. Remember that your parrot needs a balanced diet just in the same way you will. The amount of food they eat should have the proper percentage of nutrients needed by their body.
If you prepare food for your parrot, you should know that most food rich in substances like sugar and fats are not good for the health of the parrot. You should assume the responsibilities of investigating about foods substances which are detrimental to their health. Remember that just like you and I, your parrot can suffer from too much fat.
When you set out to provide food for your parrot, you should keep in mind that there are certain foods substances which parrots love while in the wild and these will be much cherished by them even in captivity. Consider things such as carrots, cooked potatoes, kale, tomato, green beans, eggplant, cauliflower, collard greens and snow peas very, and fruits such as apples, berries, mango, pineapple, banana, pears, cantaloupe, and berries as best for the wellbeing of your parrot.
When feeding your parrot, remember that it would like to be fed in the same manner as it used to do when in the bush. There are so many ways of creatively doing this. You can decide to hang whatever you want to give them on a string. Keep in mind that they are very daring to try things, plus the fact that this is going to keep them active while they eat.
Make sure your parrot equally has a balanced diet. Also take note of the fact that the responsibilities in feeding your parrot will vary with the various species of parrots. Therefore, some preliminary learning must be done if you intend keeping parrots.
Always train your parrot to signal to you whenever it feels like eating. This is something that will be of benefit not only to the parrot, but equally to you. Your parrot may also be trained to tell you what it will like to eat at any particular moment.
