How to Control the Unnecessary Chattering Of Your Parrot

There is a lot of expert opinion and especially those of vets which hold that it is almost impossible to make parrots behave differently. The reason for this is that this type of behaviour is not only inherent in parrots, but it is what makes them stand apart from every other bird.

Every parrot owner or those intending to keep parrots must therefore be faced with the trouble of encountering the different and unexpected attitudes of the parrot. There is just no way in which some of these instincts can be overcome. A particular behaviour that is difficult to contain is the uncontrollable noises that parrots make. This is something that you almost find impossible to control or put an end to.

If your parrot makes a lot of noise and you feel that this is out of control, there should be no need reprimanding that parrot because it was born with this attitude. In most cases, the parrots will have to incessantly make such noises to draw your attention to them. Remember that parrots are birds which are known not to live in seclusion.

What should be noted about noise making of parrots is that they must do this as a sign to let you know that are full of life or they are in need of something. But when this attitude gets out of hand, there is need for you to do something.

If you thin your parrot makes unreasonable noise and you want to put an end to this, the following lines will help you:

First and foremost, you should know that there is nothing wrong with a parrot making noise. Keep in mind that is was born to do so. This is the more reason why they are commonly referred to as “chattering birds”. In most cases, you should know that they are very clever and inquisitive and will want to prove to you that they have mimicked and learned more than you think. One of the best ways to stop this is to train them by letting them know that noise making or chattering should be done only at particular hours of the day. Make the parrot to know that there are certain times which you must not want this. This can also be done by coming up with a signal and use this to let it know that you do not want noise.

Secondly, do not always and instantly act in response to this. Parrots often use this to let you know that they are in need of your attention. Sometimes, it is good to simply shove off this attitude so that the parrot should think you do not bother about it.  Paying no attention to this will enable the parrot to know that you do not pay any attention to this and you will never pay attention to it.

Thirdly, it is good to teach your parrot to speak softly. Do not always abide by its screaming. Teach it to control its tome and pitch. The parrot should also know that there are times to speak in low as well as in high tones.
