Looking After Your Parrot in the Most Appropriate Manner
One of the greatest responsibilities that you can assume is to look after someone. This is one and the same thing even if you are looking after a pet and a simple animal. This same responsibility goes for keeping parrots. If you keep a parrot, you should know that I will require almost all of your concentration and this can even be on a daily or weekly basis.
If you pay for a parrot, most of you troubles in taking care of it will be at home. Keep in mind that a parrot cannot just be left anywhere or on its own within the house. It has to be kept in an enclosure. The enclosure must be comfortable enough for the parrot. This is because parrots are birds which like to be at ease. Immediately they sense that they are ill at ease or the necessary attention to them is being diverted somewhere else, they begin manifestation instincts which may be detrimental to their health. You should of course remember that the length of a parrot’s life will depend on its health.
Your parrot will have to be well fed. This means that what you provide for your parrot should contain all the necessary food substances. Your parrot should eat a lot of protein. A good source of protein should be from natural pellets, peanut butter and boiled eggs. Avoid giving your parrots anything that has alcohol, salt, chocolate or caffeine.
One of the greatest things that you should cherish your parrot for and even above all other pets is their cleverness in talking like humans. They will be perfect in this if you properly teach them to do so and it is only through trial and error and this will be done again and again before they will become skilled in doing do. This should also be done when the parrot is at its tender age. Remember that it will be hard to teach and old parrot something new.
Parrot wills also need to warm up or relax their bodies. This is the more reason why their cages should be spacious enough to let them move freely about. In most cases, you will have to let them out of their cages. This should be done occasionally and should be done for about five minutes or even more. But make sure that you done this under supervision and that the doors and windows are closed. Remember that parrots love freedom and may want run away.
Make sure you keep the feathers, claws and beaks of parrots neat.
Provide your parrot with clean water and this should be replaced regularly. Make sure you clean their cages regularly and make provisions for your parrot to take a bath. Most of these should be done with the recommendations of a vet.
Once you are aware of the above and you know the procedure of going about it, there is no reason why your parrot should not be considered the best parrot in the neighbourhood. You and your parrot will also motivate others around you to consider the love of parrots and to think about having parrots as pets.
